A simple rock supported by God

A SIMPLE ROCK SUPPORTED BY GOD

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. (1 Samuel 17:45 NLT)

Many times, we grow frustrated because we try to do things in our name and in our own strengths. We want to resolve our problems with our marriage, children, finances, etc. in our own strengths and the only thing we achieve is getting tired and discouraged.

David did not want to use regular weapons or Saul’s armor, but a mere rock that was supported by God and won the victory.

Everything Dinora and I have done has been out of God’s direction and depending on Him. We moved to Las Vegas depending on God, accepted being pastor’s out of obedience to Him, left our secular jobs depending on God, took on the challenge of building a church during economic crises depending on God, pray for the sick depending on God, believe in people depending on God, and form leaders and disciples for God.

Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. (1 Samuel 17:46 NLT)

God, God, God, God, God.
Lord, help me to not fear and never depend on my human abilities, rather always do things in your name.
Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ.

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. (1 Samuel 17:45 NLT)

Think about it:

Have you felt frustrated wanting to achieve something in your own strengths?
What have been your battles in your home, ministry, business, etc?
What situation do you need to surrender to God and trust He will work in your favor?
