GOD’S METHODS ARE DIFFERENT
You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals. (2 Kings 3:17 NLT)
Sometimes we think that we are going to resolve situations in ways that we already know of, but many times God will surprise us by using other methods that we would have never thought of.
The people in this verse believed that rain was the only way to obtain water in the middle of the drought that was occurring, but God tells them through the prophet Elisha that although rain would not come, they still wouldn’t die of thirst and have abundant water. The following verses explain how water appeared.
The next day at about the time when the morning sacrifice was offered, water suddenly appeared! It was flowing from the direction of Edom, and soon there was water everywhere. (2 Kings 3:20 NLT)
I have learned to live by faith, to believe in God and walk in faith and have seen how God acts in each situation.
Through the years, God has always surprised us when we thought things were nearly impossible. He gave us the money to build a church in the middle of one of the worst economic crises of the country. He continually heals many sick people who come to church when the doctors told them that they medically couldn’t do anything more. We have seen very difficult legal cases resolved in favor of the people.
In what area of your life do you need God to surprise you in through unusual ways? In your finances, marriage, health of a loved one, legal case, miracle in your body, etc? Wait and expect for God to work in your favor this week in a supernatural way. Maybe He will use someone or something that never would have occurred to you. He will make something work for good in your life.
Remember that His methods and thoughts are better than ours.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)
Think about it:
In what area of your life do you need God to surprise you through unusual ways?
In what ways has God surprised you by working things for good in the midst of a problem?
What miracle from God are you waiting for?
