Why bad people prosper and good ones don’t

WHY BAD PEOPLE PROSPER AND GOOD ONES DON’T
Part 1

Lord… So let me bring you this complaint: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are evil people so happy? (Jeremiah 12:1 NLT)

There are two questions we sometimes ask ourselves.

  • First, why do bad things happen to good people?
  • Second, why do bad people have good things?

Injustice is not a new concept. This same phenomenon would occur during Jeremiah’s time, and that’s why he brought this complaint before God:

Lord… So let me bring you this complaint: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are evil people so happy? You have planted them, and they have taken root and prospered. Your name is on their lips, but you are far from their hearts. (Jeremías 12:1-2 NTV)

1. It is not bothersome to God fo rus to bring these frustrations to Him in prayer. If Prophet Jeremiah did it, we are also able to.

Holding in emotions in our hearts such as anger, sadness, or fear can sicken our hearts. It is better to let it out with God, and that way He will bring peace to our hearts.

Lord… So let me bring you this complaint: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are evil people so happy? (Jeremiah 12:1 NLT)

Think about it:

Have you ever asked yourself these two questions?
Have you ever felt frustrated by these injustices?
Do you think speaking with God about your frustrations is better than retaining them?
