YOU’RE ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN
Jeremiah complained.
Many times we try to live with integrity, doing good and being fair, but even like that problems come. This can cause:
1. Times when we feel fed up with so many problems to continually resolve and we can grow tempted to complain against God.
The good news is that God does not get angry because of this. We are not the only ones who have felt this way and complained. In fact, the great prophet Jeremiah did it so I think that gives us permission to let our frustrations out with God.
2. God’s response was encouraging to his tired prophet, and in that same way, He strengthens you and I today.
3. Jeremiah never lost his trust in God. If anything, this is what he told Him: “Lord, you know what you do and I trust in you. Simply give me life to continue preaching your Word.”
Think about it:
Have you felt afflicted because you do your best to do good and problems still come?
Have you felt like complaining against God?
In what ways do you think it can help to let your frustrations out with God?
