The power of being together

THE POWER OF BEING TOGETHER

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. (Acts 12:5 NLT)

When we go through crises, we usually do not know what to do. When someone in the family suffers, the entire family suffers; everything changes, such as the routine, finances, etc.

About that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. He had the apostle James (John’s brother) killed with a sword. When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. (This took place during the Passover celebration.)  Then he imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring Peter out for public trial after the Passover. (Acts 12:1-4 NLT)

First, he killed James and planned on doing the same with Peter to gain favor. Can you imagine 16 soldiers guarding him?! How do you think Peter felt? The situation looked very bleak!

Sometimes we may feel that way when the doctor gives us a bad diagnosis, we’re left jobless, go through a loss, etc. and we feel surrounded by 16 demons.

But, while Peter was imprisoned, while you are in your crises… Peter was “alone”, but he was not alone. The church was fervently praying for him. (Acts 12:5)

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. (Acts 12:5 NLT)

Things are easier together! IF you are going through a problem, you are not alone. The church is praying for you!
It benefits us to:

1. Be together in prayer.
2. Be together with God.
3. Be together with others.

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. (Acts 12:5 NLT)

Think about it:

Are you confronting a crisis? Are you congregating and joining a House of Peace?
Does your family in Christ know your needs? Have you experienced how unity in prayer can bring breakthrough?
