Created to have the character of Christ

Created to have the character of Christ

We must grow spiritually and emotionally while we are on earth.

There are people that have grown physically and have gotten to be 40 years old, their body has matured, but they are spiritual and emotional babies.

Jesus came to the world to show us that we can mature and have a character like his, integrity, humility and patience.

You will not take your career to heaven, but you will take your character. God is mostly concerned in who you are than in what you do.

How does God develop these qualities? It is not by using a magic wand that suddenly walks through the church’s parking lot and all of sudden you “feel like you love everyone”.

You will find yourself in difficult situations where you will be able to exercise the fruit of the Spirit as if it was a spiritual muscle.

…  weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5 KJV

Peace is exercised during chaos, not only when we are on a cruise for a vacation.

Patience is developed at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), at a rude doctor’s appointment, at school with an atheist teacher, during traffic time, etc.

The Bible says that we are becoming more like the image of the Lord.

To be continued…

Think about it:

What have difficult situations produced in you?

How do you think God develops the fruit of the Spirit in you?
