DEFINED PURPOSE

This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel. (Ezra 7:10 NLT)

Ezra had clearly decided what to do with his life.

Many people go through this life wasting their time. They never achieve anything significant because they are always trying to imitate others, to achieve the fame of others, are influenced by fashion and opinions of others, etc.

These people go unnoticed in life, nobody remembers them, because they live without a definite purpose.

Instead, Ezra remained in the memories of the Bible as a great leader who lived with a definite purpose and the gracious hand of God was with him, because:

1. He decided to study.
2. Decided to obey what he studied.
3. He decided to teach others what he studied.

… for the gracious hand of his God was on him. 10 This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel… (Ezra 7:9-10 NLT)

Think about it:

What have you decided to do in your life?
Do you want the gracious hand of God to be upon you?
Have you set out to learn the Word of God and obey it?
Would you be willing to teach others the Word of God?
