WHEN THEY MAKE FUN OF YOU, LEAVE IT TO GOD
Then I prayed, “Hear us, our God, for we are being mocked. May their scoffing fall back on their own heads and may they themselves become captives in a foreign land! (Nehemiah 4:4 NLT)
There will always be people who will make fun of you in an attempt to discourage you, but you don’t need to let it affect you. Don’t fight with them, don’t waste your energy, rather rest in the Lord and leave it to Him.
1. Let God defend you.
- Don’t let other’s opinions discourage you.
- He knows who you are. He will fight for you and reward you in public.
- Don’t get revenge yourself. He knows how to make all things work for good.
Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!” (Nehemiah 4:14 NLT)
2. Remember that God is greater than those who made fun of you.
3. Encourage others and fight for leaving a better world for you children and future descendants.
- Don’t let mockery paralyze you to not reach your goals and be an example to your loved ones.
- Fight to learn another language, even if your accent gets made fun of. Fight for your children to graduate from college, fight to start a new generation in the family full of college graduates, businesspeople, or pastors.
- It doesn’t matter if they make fun of you. God is smiling with affirmation, acceptance, and love for you.

Do you think you would be more productive in everything you do if you leave the mockers in the hands of God?
