BOTH RECEIVE SOMETHING FROM GOD
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. (Ecclesiastes 2:26)
He who pleases God receives three things:
1. God gives them wisdom.
2. God gives them knowledge.
3. God gives them joy.
The sinner also receives something:
1. God gives the task of collecting and piling up.
2. God gives him the task of giving to the one who pleases God all that he has piled up.
…the sinner’s wealth passes to the godly. (Prov. 13:22 NLT)
3. Affliction of spirit and vanity.
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. (Ecclesiastes 2:26)
Think about it:
What have you received from God?
What do you want God to give you?
What changes do you have to make to be one that pleases God?
