Do not neglect your purpose

DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR PURPOSE

Purpose, dedication and discipline.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. 1 Timothy 4:14 NLT

It is very easy to lose sight of the purpose for which you were born, when there is so much going on in your world or a lot of activity during Christmas time.

1. Remember your gifts are not an accident.

You intentionally received them from God with a purpose.

You are not an accident in this life. Do not allow yourself to be diverted from your assignment, the original intention as to why the Lord placed you on earth, giving you certain gifts and abilities.

The Bible says, “… Do not neglect the spiritual gift you have received…”

2. Practice dedication.

To progress in anything that is worth it, it is necessary to be a dedicated person. For example, completely focus on your studies until you graduate, care for your disciples until you see them grow, make the effort to watch your diet so that you have good health, etc.

Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. 1 Timothy 4:15 NLT

3. Remember to be disciplined.

Keep a close watch on how you live… Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation… 1 Timothy 4:16 NLT

Develop the necessary disciplines for success and remain firm.

Keep praying during your daily date with God.

Keep eating healthier, exercise a little, turn off the television and go to bed half an hour earlier.
Keep taking care of good relationships at home, work and at school.
Continue using a budget to administer your finances.
Purpose, dedication and discipline.

Think about it:

Have you ever felt diverted from God’s purpose in your life? What things have diverted you from your assignment?
What disciplines have you exercised to fulfill God’s plan for you?
