TAKING CARE OF WHAT I SEE IN MOMENTS OF STRESS
The Israelites had just come out of slavery from Egypt. God had taken them out with His Powerful hand. They had seen the many miracles that God performed through His servant Moses, but when they saw that the army was persecuting them, they again complained and doubted the power of God.
ERROR, they panicked.
When we’re under pressure our brain can deceive us, our vision becomes narrow like a “tunnel”. We feel trapped without an escape. We enter a state of survival. We start fighting with those we love most, at home or in the church.
ANOTHER ERROR, they spoke negatively.
They began to complain to Moses.
They stopped seeing the good intentions of the leader that wanted to bring them freedom and they began seeing him as an enemy. They resented him because he moved them from their comfort in slavery. He challenged them to leave mediocrity and conformity.
SOLUTION: What to do in times of pressure?
1. Look to God and His promises.
2. Agree with the leader of God, not with fatalistic news or toxic people.
3. Live with peace and abandon panic.
Stop living in a state of survival, start enjoying life and adopt an attitude of productivity.
Think about it:
What do you do in times of pressure and stress?
Who or what do you look to during times of stress?
With whom do you come into agreement with? With God’s promises or with the news?
