HOW TO OVERCOME FEAR
We are all confronted with different fears, youth and adults alike; men and women alike. God’s Word can help us overcome them.
Fear of failure can paralyze anyone, and we could say: “What if I speak Spanish and people laugh at me?, What if I apply for a certain position and they don’t give it to me?, What if I launch my own business and it fails? Etc.
There are people who fear challenges, driving a car, new things, unknown things, new projects, and fear of not being able to do something. We should know that if God is with us, we will be able to do it. With the Word of God we can overcome all fear!
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”.(Philippians 4:13 NLT)
When I was a youth, the Lord called me. My pastor at the time had invited me to be the youth pastor, and I was so afraid, distraught, hurt, and damaged by my past, and I remember telling him, “No, I’m not good for that. I’m afraid. I’m fearful. I get nervous when I begin to teach and my hands start sweating. I can’t! Public speaking drains me and stresses me out.” But, he had already seen something that God placed in me.
What helped me? This Bible verse:
- The Lord will go ahead of you.
- He promises to be with you.
- He will not fail you.
- He will not abandon you.
If I had not confronted that fear, thousands of souls wouldn’t have heard the message of salvation, many wouldn’t have been healed from sickness and pain!
