COVID WANTS TO ENSLAVE YOU
The Babylonian troops did this to King Zedekiah. I believe that some effects of the coronavirus pandemic could be similar:
1.- Steals your vision. Then he gouged out Zedekiah’s eyes… (Jer. 39:7 NLT)
The crisis of this pandemic has brought a lot of stress and distraction. We are in danger of losing the vision and purpose that God has given us.
When stressed, you may be tempted to abandon the dreams you had for your marriage or for your own business, for your studies, or even for the ministry.
2.- …and bound him in bronze chains to lead him away to Babylon. (Jer. 39:7 NLT)
Modern chains can be addictions and habits that destroy your life. Many people in this crisis are binding themselves with depression, alcohol, or drugs. Others are shackled with bitterness and are exploding in their marriage and destroying their relationships. They have problems with everything, at work, at school and at home. Beware of modern slavery brought by the Covid crisis!
Think about it:
What dreams have you abandoned during this time?
Have you returned to old habits or sins?
Have you allowed stress to damage your relationships with other people?
What problems has lack of emotional control caused you in this time of crisis?
