¿HOW TO RECOVER WHEN I FEEL OVERWHELMED?? III
Yesterday we learned two practical things that will help us recover when we feel overwhelmed and today, we will learn three more:
3.- We need to recognize that life is a marathon. It’s not a hundred meter race. You can’t do everything at the same time, but you can do what’s assigned to you. You don’t have time to do everything, but you do have time to do everything you were born to do, to do God’s purpose for your life. Ask yourself what does God want me to do? And make sure you are doing the four priorities (God, family, work and ministry). Learn to say “No” to things that are not within your responsibility.
4.- Enjoy your journey of success. Have fun! There are people alive but who are no longer living, they are only existing, they aren’t enjoying themselves, they are only complaining about life. You have to enjoy life in a healthy way! Give up perfectionism, some of us are very given to wanting the perfect things and when they don’t go well for us we get frustrated and that robs our life’s joy. You have to rest in the Lord. If you become a perfectionist, you won’t enjoy it; You don’t need to do everything perfect, just do your best.
5.- Overcome reluctance. Do what you have to do to stay motivated and energized. No one can be motivated by you, no one can go to sleep early to get a good rest for you, no one can turn off Netflix for you, no one can eat healthy for you, no one can exercise for you. Do what you have to do so that reluctance doesn’t beat you. “Discipline is the ability to give yourself an order and carry it out even when you don’t feel like it”.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.(Psalms 55:22 NLT)
Think about it:
Are you doing your part or are you wanting to do everything?
What priority have you been neglecting?
What can you do to enjoy life in a healthy way?
In what area do you need to discipline yourself to overcome reluctance?
