More than the sentries

MORE THAN THE SENTRIES

I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. (Psalms 130:6 NLT)

I imagine that the people that work at night, as guards or night watchers rejoice when the sunrise comes because that means many things:

  • That the end of their shift is coming. They finished one more mission, they were productive.
  • That they can go home. Speaks about family. Speaks of rest. Finally, they will rest and eat.
  • That God took care of them. They survived one more night without incidents, nor thefts, nor wounds.

Because of this and many other reasons, the sentries long for the sunrise to come.

Sincerely, I have hunger for God, I long for the Lord more than the sentries for the sunrise.

I long for his return.

I long that this pandemic ends and we can go back to the services in the temple with all the people.

I enjoy the prayer times a lot more. I long for the silent midnights when I wake up to speak with Him, with no noise in my house, nor from my neighbors.

I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. (Psalms 130:6 NLT)

Think about it:

What do you long more than the sentries?

Do you long to spend more time with God each morning?

Have you stayed with hunger for God?
