I want to do your will, but i don’t know how – II

I WANT TO DO YOUR WILL, BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW

Part 2

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.

May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. (Psalms 143:10 NLT)

Yesterday we shared that many of us want to do God’s will, but sometimes we find it difficult for various reasons: One is that we don’t know what He wants us to do and  others are because:

  • We don’t know how to do it.

We need to know God ‘s methods. For example we can fail in marriage by not knowing God’s methods on having success or by attempting to do it our own way.

There are at least three ways to do things:

-The way others think you should do it.

-They way I think I should do it.

-The way God says it should be done.

  • Sometimes we know what His will is, but the path is difficult.

There have been times when I know that something is God’s will, but how difficult it is to achieve it. Therefore, I need God’s grace to achieve it..

That’s why Moses asked God three petitions: (Exodus 33:12-18)

– Show me your ways.

– That your presence follows me

– Show me your glory

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.

May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. (Psalms 143:10 NLT)

Think about it:

Are you doing things your way, the way of others or God ‘s way?

Do you know God’s methods or do you need to learn them?

What has been the hardest part in doing God’s will?

Why do you think that we need God’s grace in order to do his will?
