Is it you, or does it just look like you?

IS IT YOU, OR DOES IT JUST LOOK LIKE YOU?

His neighbors and others who knew him as a blind beggar asked each other, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?” Some said he was, and others said, “No, he just looks like him!” But the beggar kept saying, “Yes, I am the same one!” John 9:8-9 NLT

There was a woman that had been praying for years so God would save her “macho” husband. Finally, after her husband gave his life to Christ, she said: “The Lord has given me a new husband. The same one, but he is someone else!”

What was this woman trying to say? She was saying that God had transformed her violent and unsensitive husband into a merciful man. His physical body had not changed, but he had been transformed.

When God makes a change in you, it is easily noticed by those who surround you and by those who are close to you; because, something significant has happened in you. Something happens when you give your heart to Christ, when you go to a retreat and become part of a House of Peace.

People will notice your transformation, when they see you no longer use the same vulgar jokes, when they see you no longer gossip, that you no longer steal supplies from your job and that you like to go to church. They will ask themselves, “What’s wrong with him? What’s wrong with her? Is it really them?”

When the blind man was, peer pressured to say something bad about Jesus, he replied:

“I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” John 9:25 NLT

When someone tries to shake your faith in Christ trying to stop you from serving your church, you can also reply, “All I know is that I was spiritually blinded and that Christ changed me and now I have vision and purpose in life”. You will be able to say, “Yes, it’s me… but a new and improved me in Christ.”

Think About It:

¿What do those who surround you say about you? What attributes in you stand out the most?
What things are you doing to keep your transformation? What are you practicing in order to make changes in your life?
