Two things that separate me from God

TWO THINGS THAT SEPARATE ME FROM GOD
AND TWO THAT BRING ME CLOSER

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12 NLT)

A few keys in this verse are:

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.
This phrase tells us to be alert, not to fall asleep in the face of some danger, to pay attention to some threat.

It also speaks about two things that represent danger:

1.- An evil heart.
Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. (Heb. 3:12 NLT)
Willful and consistent sin will always make us feel further away from God.
It will be difficult for those with evil in their heart to prosper in the long run..

2.- Disbelief. There is no way to feel close to someone we don’t believe in.
God is supernatural, while reason and logic are natural. We need to activate faith to draw closer to Him and experience the supernatural.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (Heb. 11:6 NLT)

SOLUTION: Have a good heart full of faith.

Lord, help me to keep my heart free of trash, bitterness, resentment, revenge, and sinful thoughts. May my heart be a highway of your love, of your thoughts, of your purposes, of the fruit of the Spirit, full of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faith, meekness, self-control and good wishes for others. the rest.

Think about it:

Have you stayed alert or spiritually neglected at this time?
What’s in your heart?
Have you remained in faith despite the circumstances?
Do you feel close or far from God?
