YOU’RE A STEP AWAY FROM RECEIVING GREATER BLESSINGS
Usually, the greatest blessings are only a step away, and your greatest victories are only a battle away. What is the step you need to take? Obedience. Every promise from God is tied to the obedience of the person who received the promise.
God told Abraham that He wanted to bless him greatly and that in order to do so he had to follow some instructions like leaving his family lineage. Why? Why couldn’t God bless him in that land?
The Lord had said to Abraham:
God couldn’t bless Abram in that land, because there were certain things that would stop him from being successful. Land, refers to a territory where a culture has already been formed. Therefore, there are environments where faith will never flourish, and there exist cultures where corruption, cheating and selfishness is rewarded.
The family lineage talks about habits and traditions that are passed on to families from generation to generation. For example, there are families that have left behind a legacy known for alcoholism, while others are known for being sober and responsible. There are other families that have left a legacy known for violence and stealing, while others are known for being kind and generous. What legacy will you leave behind?
You are the product of your past environment and friends. If you want to be different tomorrow, then you’ll have to embrace a culture, friends and habits that are different.
Think about it:
What step into obedience has God asked you to take? What have you been afraid to do?
What promises have you received from God that have not yet been fulfilled, because you know that they are only a step away from your obedience?
