I will cross this lake

I WILL CROSS THIS LAKE

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. (Matthew 8:23 NLT)

Sooner than later we all need to cross dangerous lakes in our lives. The important thing is that Jesus crosses with us.

In these lakes we will find:
-The unforeseen,
-Storms,
-Weariness,
-Loneliness because we are far from people,
-Uncertainty because we are far from the shore and there are no friends or buildings to protect us,
-Insecurity because orientation is cloudy and we don’t have a compass,
-Anxiety because we don’t have phone service (No communication, no compass, no Siri, no map, no FB, etc.)

This crisis has been like a lake that we are still crossing, and even though we don’t understand many things we must be sure that Christ remains the center of our life.

We can lose our job but we can’t have the luxury of losing Christ.
We can lose friendships but not Christ.
We can lose money but not our source; Jesus.

The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. (Matthew 8:25-26 (NTV)

I’m sure we will cross this lake of crisis because Jesus is in our boat, in my family, in my finances, in ministry, etc.

Think about it:

What dangerous lake are you crossing?
What have you lost in this storm?
Have you made sure that Jesus is in your boat (in your life)?
