Return to Bethel

RETURN TO BETHEL

So, Jacob told everyone in his household, “Get rid of all your pagan idols, purify yourselves, and put on clean clothing. We are now going to Bethel, where I will build an altar to the God who answered my prayers when I was in distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone.” Genesis 35:2-3 NLT

Bethel in Hebrew means, “House of God”.

Jacob returned to Bethel during a time of trouble and as he prayed and cried out, God answered him. Just as Jacob did, it is time to remember and thank the Lord because He has been good.

Most of us have gone through critical moments in our lives, where we have prayed and the Heavenly Father has helped us go forward.

This is why it is good to remember our “Bethels” and to thank God because He has helped us with our family, our health, our studies and with our achievements.

We come to the House of God (Bethel) every week to edify an altar of prayer and songs of gratitude because He has kept us and blessed us in all our ways.

… We are now going to Bethel, where I will build an altar to the God who answered my prayers when I was in distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone. Genesis 35:2-3 NLT

Sometimes, we’re really good at worrying about problems, yet we quickly forget all the good things Jesus Christ has done for us, and that He continues to do for us. Put a STOP to your temporary problems, and turn your heart towards God in gratitude.

Think about it:

Are you going to (Bethel) because you have problems, or do you go every week to thank Him? Why?
How many “Bethels” or blessings has the Lord given you, that you can thank him for?
What level of gratitude do you have in your heart? Remember: gratitude brings multiplication.
