DIG, DRAW AND FILL
Part 2
Yesterday we talked about the altar representing our heart, and this verse when talking about rebuilding is because it was destroyed or damaged. Therefore, first he rebuilt the altar and secondly:
2. He dug a trench around the altar. I imagine I have to dig in my heart and in my emotions to see if there is anything that is damaged. But the image also comes to mind that digging makes room for something. In this case, it was dug up to make room to put water.
In the case of the altar of our heart, we have to dig to do two things:
- First, take out what is useless and is taking space without a benefit.
- Second, put something good in it’s place.
The waters, for me, represent the waters of the Holy Spirit.
I want to make room on the altar of my heart to give place to the Holy Spirit to pour out his unlimited anointing, to run and move as it did at the altar in this passage!
But for that I need to dig, remove the bad and put the Holy Spirit in so that it will be filled.
Think about it:
Do you need to dig into your heart or do you know what is damaged?
What do you need to dig out of your heart that prevents the entrance of the Holy Spirit? Do you want the Holy Spirit to flow in your life like in those waters?
