Sometimes we cry in private

SOMETIMES WE CRY IN PRIVATE

Then Joseph hurried from the room because he was overcome with emotion for his brother. He went into his private room, where he broke down and wept.  After washing his face, he came back out, keeping himself under control. Then he ordered, “Bring out the food! “Genesis 43:30-31 NLT

There will be occasions where you will need to cry in private and then take care of your responsibilities.

Sometimes, people will not understand your pain, so you will have to cry in privacy and then wash your face in order to continue with your daily tasks. There will be moments when the leader cannot afford to cry in public and discourage those who depend on him.

The pastor must encourage his parishioners. The father must encourage his kids. The boss must encourage his employees in the organization. Crying in private does not mean that you are harboring or hiding your pain. It’s simply a better choice to rest in the Lord in private so that He can strengthen you.

Crying in private does not refer to repressing an emotion. In fact, after resting in God, He gives you the wisdom to overcome your situation, your emotional exhaustion, the heavy experiences of life or the process into maturity that you are going through.

The husband makes his wife feel safe, because after crying together they regain their composure, re-focus on their family’s vision and say: “Let’s keep going forward. Everything will be okay.”

After washing his face, he came back out, keeping himself under control. Then he ordered, “Bring out the food!” Genesis 43:31 NLT

Think about it:

How have you managed your pain lately? Have you rested in God or have you been unstable?
Who do you consider trustworthy? Who can you be accountable to? Who can you share your struggles with?
