Do not end up alone

DO NOT END UP ALONE
FOR NOT KNOWING HOW TO LISTEN

Now when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying: “What share have we in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Every man to your tents, O Israel! Now see to your own house, O David!” So all Israel departed to their tents. (2 Chronicles 10:16 NKJV)

This king ended up alone because he didn’t know how to listen.
A wise leader knows how to listen to others.
A wise leader knows that their function is to serve others, which is why he cares about the needs of others.

The wise leaders must be empathetic and understanding with the people before directing.
A wise leader knows how to discern what people say on behalf of God and what isn’t on his behalf.
A wise leader makes decisions.
In this case the leader was not wise, but it leaves me with an example of what I shouldn’t do, and it’s a lesson that I can become a better leader.

Now when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying: “What share have we in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Think about it:

Do you speak more than you listen?
Are you empathetic with others?
In what issues have you gotten yourself into for speaking before listening?
