Are you frustrated because you lack power?

ARE YOU FRUSTRATED BECAUSE YOU LACK POWER?

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 NIV

Most of us have felt frustrated when we try to change certain thoughts, bad attitudes or harmful habits in our own strength, and that’s the problem. We are trying to do things in our merely human power.

Fortunately, God has provided us with the Holy Spirit’s help, which gives us His supernatural power.

Notice that the Bible does not say that you will receive power “to do”, but instead “to be” someone.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be… Acts 1:8 NIV

Once our inner being is changed, then our actions can be controlled.

Next time you feel frustrated, because you are trying to be someone or do something in your own strength, remember to ask the Holy Spirit for help.

Stop fighting with yourself and surrender. Give your home to God, surrender your temperament to the Holy Spirit, your explosive wrath and depressive thoughts, and soon you will see and feel the difference as you live in the supernatural power of the Lord.

Remember, Jesus said: “…ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” Acts 1:8 KJV

Think about it:

What makes you think you have lacked power in your life?
What aspect of your life needs to be surrendered to God? Where do you need to ask the Holy Spirit for help?
