The purpose of the battles

THE PURPOSE OF THE BATTLES

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:3-6 KJV

We don’t get tested in life by chance nor to simply go through a tough time. God allows us to go through difficulties because He wants to shape us, form our character, and remove any possible bad habits. If we can be sure about one thing, that is that sooner or later, our faith will be tested.

The benefits of the battles:

1. It shows us what we are made of.
The purpose of being tested is to test our character. The way we react before problems and the pressure during a crisis, determines our level of maturity.
Also, it reveals our faithfulness to God and our patience; and we learn to wait on the Lord’s reply.

2. It helps us make positive changes.
God will not change the circumstances, because He wants to try us through the problems we face so that we grow and make the necessary changes.

3. We understand we are not a finished product.
God is shaping our life, just like the potter shapes the clay. Tests are the Lord’s technique to edifying us. The faster we realize God is dealing with us, the faster we will pass the test.

4. We exercise our faith.
Faith is a muscle that we need to exercise every day. The moment we surrender to the Lord and believe that He is bigger than the test, the problem, and circumstances, He can glorify Himself in our lives.

Think about it:

How can you exercise your faith today?
What kind of battles have you had lately? Maybe, God is dealing with you…
