Never say to yourself…

NEVER SAY TO YOURSELF…

He did all this so you would never say to yourself, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy.’ Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant, he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath. Deuteronomy 8:17-18 NLT

Remember to always be grateful. Remember that all blessings come from God and that because of Him we have the health and the strength to work with excellence or to manage our own business. The Lord has given us everything good that we have and He made us dependent of Him so that we would never forget that He is our ultimate source, and that we are not self-sufficient.

Gratitude is a virtue that helps us realize we are everything we are today because of God. When we are grateful, we can remain humble with our feet on the ground. Thus, our level of gratitude reveals our level of dependency on Him.

Being grateful helps us focus on what we do have because of His grace, and not on what we don’t have. Also, it makes aware of what others do for us in order to thank them and make them feel important.

Once we learn to give God the credit for everything He has done for us, we start to value what others do for us despite their motives, and not only that, but we become a blessing to those who surround us in our daily life.

I always do my best to remember that I am where I am, because God brought me here; that I am who I am, because God made me; and that I have what I have, because God gave it to me. This keeps my heart full of gratitude, always ready to bless people and constantly depending on my Heavenly Father.

Think about it:

Why do you think you have what you have today?
How can you be a blessing to someone this week?
What are you grateful for today?
